Branson, Missouri is one of the coolest little towns! Filled with shows, cool stores, games, arcades, hikes, lakes, you name it….its there. This beautiful city is one that is enchanting and exciting. If you are driving anywhere near here you have to stop by! It is worth drive! Even if you can only spend a day in this fun town. Follow this itinerary and your short trip will be filled with history, fun, food, games, and lemurs!!

Best time to go to Branson, Missouri:

The time of year you go to Branson, Missouri makes a world of a difference in the activities you can do. The absolute best time to go is in spring, particularly March. During this month it is the least crowded! This makes a huge difference as a lot of the activities to do in the area are in tighter spaces and having a lot of people means you will not get to enjoy things to the fullest. This is also the time of year that most shows open up. Summer it is super busy, humid, and muggy. Fall it is beautiful due to the changing leaves, but this also means more people. Winter is super cool as they decorate all over with lights, trees, reindeer (live ones), and Santa Clauses; once again though it can get pretty crowded due to all the fun!

The #1 item you will NEED for this trip!

Bug Repellant– You are in a humid, muggy swamp area; YOU WILL NEED THIS! Mosquitos are everywhere! I like OFF!, because it doesn’t stink! Also it doesn’t just squirt, it sprays all over you. So much easier and quicker than having to squirt yourself over and over again.

24 Hour Branson, Missouri Itinerary:

1. Titanic Museum

Branson’s Titanic Museum is shaped like a giant boat!

Start your perfect day in Branson, Missouri with a stroll through history! Literally walk through a giant boat museum designed like the Titanic. Walk in to be greeted by maids and butlers dressed for the time period. They will hand you a card with a person on it. This person was an actual passenger on the ship. As you walk through different parts of the museum, it is as though you are through the ship itself. The rooms show what the rooms were like on different parts of the ship. There are artifacts, stories, and descriptions on how the ship was.

Then you get to the glacier. Stick your hand in the ice cold water, to feel what these people felt. Stand on the inclined deck to feel how steep it was. So many experiences to help you understand what this horrifying experience was like. Find your passenger and learn their story. What an incredible experience. Not exactly a super interactive museum, but it does have some interactive sections. It is an inspiration and an incredible museum. Make sure you bring the Titanic movie and soundtrack on your trip to top off your Titanic experience!

2. Branson’s Wild World

Just like any zoo there are a ton of animals all over.
The entrance to the cave that leads to all the animals.

Next on your trip in Branson, Missouri is an indoor zoo! Zoo’s outside are fun, but imagine a zoo where you won’t be affected by weather. This wild world is filled with many, many animals and not only can you see the animals; but you can feed them! Feed the alligators, feed the sharks, feed the stingrays, koi, turtles, etc. You can even feed and play with lemurs! How cool is that!? There are so many things to do here and so many different animals to interact with. You can get right up next to wolves, talk to a cockatoo, and admire an alligator with only a glass between you. It is such a fun place especially for kids, but if you love animals then you will love this place. Lets say you are not a huge animal fan, well stop on by for some black light mini golf then!

Tip: There is quite a heavy stink from the animals (due to them being indoors) I highly recommend applying some stink balm under your nose, so that instead of smelling the awful smell of animals and poop, you will smell your favorite scent. Trust me, this makes the experience 100 times more enjoyable when you are not gagging from a heavy stench throughout the zoo.

There are dino heads all over to get your picture with!

There are a TON of dinosaurs stuffed into this tiny building. Believe me you will pull up and doubt the museum based on its size, but there were so many dinosaurs! I brought my toddler and she had wide eyes the entire time. There are dinosaur replicas all over and heads that you can get right close to. There is a small theater too that shows a short video about dinosaurs. Show your dinosaur spirit and get some great pictures with some classic dinosaur shirts!

4. The Great American Steak and Chicken House

Keep an eye out for the 42 ft chicken guarding the barn!
Highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Burger.

I am sure you are pretty hungry after a day of traveling! Being this hungry calls for a buffet! There are many places to eat for dinner, but stop on by and have a country style buffet in a barn. Just look for the giant chicken out the door, literally a giant chicken statue guards the big red barn and you have to walk under his legs to get to the door. Steaks, country fried steaks, shrimps, mashed potatoes, and many more delicious dishes await you at this fun county style restaurant. If you aren’t hungry enough for a buffet than order something delicious off of the menu! I suggest the buffalo chicken burger!
