When to Visit Branson, Missouri
The time of year you visit Branson, Missouri, greatly impacts the activities you can enjoy. The ideal time to go is in the spring, especially in March. This month offers the lowest crowds, which is important because many of Branson’s attractions are in more confined spaces, and smaller crowds allow you to fully appreciate the experience. Additionally, March marks the start of the season for most shows, making it the perfect time to explore everything Branson has to offer.
Summer in Branson is bustling, with high humidity and muggy conditions. While all the shows are active, so are the people. It is muggy, busy, and you will most likely be waiting in lines to do any of the activities.
Fall brings stunning foliage, but the vibrant colors also attract larger crowds. Winter, on the other hand, is magical, with the town decked out in festive lights, trees, live reindeer, and Santa Claus. However, the holiday charm tends to draw in more visitors, making it a busy season as well. Each of these seasons opens a door to countless new activities and festivals, but each has its challenges as well. If you were to ask me the best time to visit I would say spring for sure!
The #1 item you will NEED for this trip!
Branson is a magical town of fun, but there are monsters that live here! Mosquitos!! These blood suckers are everywhere. It is a hot, humid, muggy swamp area that is surrounded by lakes and ponds. This is the ideal environment for a lot of bugs, so consider this your warning and reminder to pack some sort of bug repellant. Here is a list of our favorite bug repellant options:
- Buggy Bands– Our #1 favorite are these repellant bracelets. They don’t reek, and you don’t have to cover your body with stinky, sticky bug spray.
- Bug Repellant Stickers– Another easy option for putting bug repellant on kids, stickers! What kid doesn’t love stickers? These don’t always stick the best, but if you put them on your clothes they really repel the awful bugs without covering yourself in spray.
- Bug Defense Wipes– Again another option from spray is wipes. Just wipe your arms and legs with these good smelling bug wipes.
- Bug Spray– Last option is of course spray. The Repel brand does wonders keeping those bugs away.

Test How Long You Can Keep Your Hands In Freezing Water At The Titanic Museum
Start your perfect day in Branson, Missouri with a stroll through history! Literally walk through a giant boat museum designed like the Titanic. Walk in to be greeted by maids and butlers dressed for the time period. They will hand you a card with a person on it. This person was an actual passenger on the ship for you to think about and learn more about.
As you walk through different parts of the museum, it is as though you are in the ship itself. Each of the rooms depict what each part of the ship was like. Walk through each of the classes to experience the difference between the rich and the poor. There are artifacts, stories, and descriptions on what the ship was like.
Then you get to the glacier. Stick your hand in the ice cold water, to feel what these people felt. Stand on the inclined deck to experience how steep it was. So many interactive experiences to help you understand what this horrifying event was like. Find your passenger and learn their story.
What an incredible experience! Not exactly a super interactive museum for little kids, but it does have some interactive sections. It is an inspiration and an incredible museum.

Visit an Indoor Zoo
Next on your trip in Branson, Missouri is an indoor zoo, Branson Wild World! Zoo’s outside are fun, but imagine a zoo where you won’t be affected by weather. This wild world is filled with many, many animals and not only can you see the animals; but you can feed them!
Feed the alligators, feed the sharks, the stingrays, koi fish, turtles, etc. You can even feed and play with lemurs! How cool is that!? There are so many things to do here and so many different animals to interact with. You can get right up next to wolves, talk to a cockatoo, and admire an alligator with only a glass between you.
It is such a fun place especially for kids. Not really a zoo fan, then stop on by for some black light mini golf instead!
Tip: There is quite a heavy stink from the animals (due to them being indoors) I highly recommend applying some stink balm under your nose, so that instead of smelling the awful smell of animals and poop, you will smell your favorite scent. Trust me, this makes the experience 100 times more enjoyable when you are not gagging from a heavy stench throughout the zoo.

There are a TON of dinosaurs stuffed into this tiny building at the Dinosaur Museum. Believe me you will pull up and doubt the museum based on its size, but there were so many dinosaurs! There is a small theater too that shows a short video about dinosaurs. A fun place for some dinosaur education and family fun.
