Visiting the Reindeer Farm in Kentucky is a really cool way to celebrate Christmas.

You’ve visited Santa, I am sure you have visited Mrs. Claus; but have you visited his reindeer!? Let’s face it Santa is everywhere. My kids have seen him 5 times already and we are only on week 2 of December! They have even had story time with Mrs. Claus. These were all picture perfect memories of my children screaming and cowering away from Santa because they are too shy to walk up to a total stranger with a giant white beard. But visiting the reindeer, now that was magic!

Visiting the Reindeer Farm in Bowling Green, Kentucky is the most unique tradition experience that you can give your kids this year! Instead of promising them ice cream and candy just to sit near Santa Claus, they will love petting and loving up on the reindeer and beg you to stay!

Things To Do At The Reindeer Farm:

Indoor Activities:

Gift Shop- The first stop on your reindeer journey is the also the last stop on your journey. The gift shop! The gift shop is so Christmasy! Christmas books, decorations, ornaments, candies, stuffed animals, and treats. Most of it was obviously reindeer themed.

I thought it was cute when we first walked in, but it was so much cuter as we were leaving. I feel like it was because the memories were made and I wanted something to remember it by. I am still kicking myself for not buying an antler piece to hang on my Christmas tree! Don’t be like me and regret not getting something to remember the memories by!

There are also cute photo ops in the Gift shop as well as a mailbox to send your letters to Santa!

Playground- I can take my kids to the coolest places, but no matter what we do nothing will be more exciting then visiting the playground. The Reindeer Farm had us covered. Literally, the playground shared the building with the gift shop. So while you are browsing, they are playing.

It isn’t a fancy playground by any means, just a small basic wooden playground you will find in people’s backyards.

Photo Ops- So many photo ops! There were Christmas objects and decorations all over the farm for adorable pictures! My personal favorite was the Santa sleigh, my kids however loved the giant Santa boots.

Snowball Fights- I have never heard of any place that can guarantee a snowball fight until now! Okay okay, I guess its more of a snowball dodgeball game. There is a small netted ice village area with tons of white dodgeballs! Don’t get hit!

Christmas Train- A mini train will take kids on a ride through the farm.

Bouncy House- There could be nothing else at this farm except a bouncy house and my kids would love this place. There is only one, but it was my kids favorite part.

Petting Zoo- There are several animal petting opportunities throughout the farm. Pigs, mini cows, llamas, and even bunnies.

FAQ’s

  • What age group is this geared toward?

Young Children and toddlers. This is a very family oriented activity, but young children will find the majority of the activities enjoyable. Not saying adults wouldn’t love it here too. The reindeer encounters would be a super fun Christmas date night! Other than that though almost everything is geared toward little kids.

  • Is everything included with admission?

No. Day use/general admission gets you into everything except the reindeer encounters. You can still see the reindeer from behind the fence, but you can not pet or get closer to them without paying for the reindeer encounter tickets.

  • What animals are at the farm?

We saw reindeer, chickens, cows, llamas, and pigs.

  • How long should I plan my visit for?

1-2 hours

  • Is it super busy?

Not super busy. The playground does get crowded, but that is because the indoor area is really small and fills up fast. When you are outdoors it does not feel crowded at all.

  • Do I have to buy my tickets in advance or can I buy them there?

No you do not have to buy you tickets in advance. You can buy them at the location.

  • Can we feed and pet the reindeer?

If you pay for the reindeer encounter you will get to pet them, other than that you are just looking.

  • What should I bring with me to the farm?

Money, coats, hats, gloves; anything you need to keep you warm

  • Is the reindeer farm wheelchair accessible?

If you can off road onto the grass then it is wheelchair accessible. Almost the entire activity is outdoors, but the ground is flat.

My Final Thoughts:

Be sure to visit the Reindeer Farm in Kentucky this Christmas.
The Reindeer farm in Bowling Green, Kentucky is a great place to visit

If I were to try and describe the Reindeer Farm to you I would say it is like a Christmas version of a pumpkin patch. When you visit a pumpkin patch of course you are looking for a pumpkin, but the activities are pretty similar to those of the Reindeer Farm. Pumpkin patches have tons of photo ops, petting zoos, mini train rides, lots of animals, and bouncy houses. Now imagine that, but covered in Christmas!

Don’t get me wrong as a mama of toddlers and young kids, we LOVE pumpkin patches, so YES! We loved the Reindeer farm. Any activity with animals and a bouncy house is a win in my family! There were so many activities and it was all so interactive. The animals were so beautiful and the atmosphere was just the right amount of holiday cheer!

The staff was friendly, it wasn’t super busy, and we simply had so much fun! You and your kids will love this new tradition of visiting Santa AND his reindeer for Christmas! Merry Christmas to all!
