I wouldn’t call myself a foodie, but I am 100% a food lover. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I grew up with 5 siblings. Food went fast and was never around. The faster you ate your food the more likely you are to be the one to get seconds. Also with that big of a family, eating out was an extremely rare treat. Because of this I now LOVE to eat out! It is still such a treat for me to not have to plan the meal, buy the supplies, make the food, and clean up the food!
I am an absolute sucker for a good cheeseburger. If I am picking where we are going to eat, you bet there is a cheeseburger somewhere on that menu and it is gonna end up in my belly! Saying that I love to travel and a lot of times when we are out traveling we treat ourselves to an eat out day. I have been all over the western and southwestern side of Colorado and I have made a list of the absolute best burgers in Colorado!
The Tator Tay

The Tator Tay is of the all time best burgers in Colorado! Fried tator tots in a bacon cheeseburger is the most divine thing I have ever tasted! I mean bacon alone is enough to make my mouth water, but the thought of eating this burger again almost has me drooling! Now when I say tator tots, I don’t mean the kind you can pick up at the grocery store for like 2 dollars. No sir-e, I am talking homemade, seasoned, and freshly fried tator tots! It almost is like a fired mashed potato ball on top of a burger, cheese, and bacon, in between some fresh buns! SO GOOD! This is the best burger I have had in all of Colorado!

Vicco’s Charcoal burger Drive In (Glenwood Springs, CO)
So you know how I mentioned before that I love food, which is true, I am also a very picky eater. Ask any of my siblings and they will tell you that I would spend forever picking every single onion out of my food. I know I am ridiculous, but that’s just me.
So I surprised even myself when I ordered the Char Melt Burger that is covered in cooked onions. Want to know something even more surprising? I LOVED IT!! I am a huge fan of burgers that are chargrilled, but Vicco’s does an incredible job of adding so much flavor to their burgers! So don’t let the thought of onions deter you from experiencing this incredible burger!

Good Ol’ Classic Cheeseburger
The Depot (Dolores, CO)
I don’t know about you, but I love to try unique foods and flavors. I love looking on the menu and finding the coolest combination and giving it a try. So when I walked into this super cute restaurant that looks like a train stop, the Depot, and saw their menu I thought this place is all looks and boring food.
After I ordered our plain ol’ classic burger, I realized I was ridiculously wrong! The flavor of their chargrilled burgers was incredible! I bought only one for me and my kiddos to share and I was so stinking close to going and buying another one even though I was full. That is how good this burger is. Now when I say classic burger I really mean classic, just a bun, lettuce, pickles, cheese, and meat. Like I said, sounds boring, but just wait til you get out of your car and breath in. You will start drooling before you even get your first bite. It is one of the best burgers in Colorado!

What is your favorite thing to put in a burger? Are you a bacon lover? Are unique veggies more your style? Maybe it’s the sauce, are you a BBQ sauce person? Or do you join into the cheese fan club? I am 100% in the cheese club! Of course I love all the other good stuff, but as long as my burger has cheese I am good.
That is why this cheese burger at the Wigglin’ Pig blew my mind! Not only was there an incredible burger with all the classic goodness, including bacon, it had so much cheese! Not just a slice of cheese, cheese curds! No, let’s make this even better….FRIED cheese curds! I am pretty sure angels were singing as I took a bite of this delectable burger. It was so good and is a must eat in Cortez, Colorado!

The Malt Shoppe (Pagosa Springs, CO)
One of the best burgers in Colorado, is in between a sesame seed bun in Pagosa Springs. This classic old Malt Shoppe may not have a huge variety of burgers to choose from, but it does have a variety of sizes. They just keep adding and adding burgers to your burger and I am pretty sure if you order the biggest size you will not be able to get your mouth around it. It is a very classic burger, but the way they cook it is just right to fill your appetite. The simplicity of this burger, but great flavor is how it made it on the list of best burgers in Colorado. Make sure you pair it with a malt of your choice!

Grind (Glenwood Springs, CO)
I do not drink, but I will tell you what, bars know how to make some of the best burgers! On the strip of Glenwood Springs is a restaurant whose burgers are so fresh! Really, its even in the name, The Grind. What makes these burgers unique is that they are freshly ground as ordered. The burgers are so light and fresh tasting!
Not only that the Grind offers multiple meat options for your burger. Your choice to have a beef burger, pork, elk, bison, etc. It is here at this fresh bar that the HogFather exists! It is as good and unique as it sounds. By far the most flavorful burger I have ever tasted! A pork burger stuffed with pepperoncini’s, Italian dressing, ham, provolone cheese, and pepperonis! So much flavor in one burger and so much pork!

The ultimate question when it comes to choosing a burger, greasy or not greasy? Again I would love to know your preference. I love having some grease to my burger, but if you are a dry burger fan than this is the way to go. The burger has all the flavors, minus the greasy taste most American burgers have. It is a burger you will leave feeling satisfied and not yucky from an overload of grease.

Miners Restaurant (Creede, CO)
Munchies is for the non-grease fans, Miners is for my grease lovers! This burger is extremely juicy! Each bite is a burst of grease and flavor. SO juicy! This is no little burger either! I bought one burger to split between me and my 3 kids and we were all so full we could barely finish it! It is still more of your classic cheeseburger with the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese, but somehow magically delicious!
